Dear saints meeting in Vancouver,
The leading brothers of the church in Vancouver have been carefully monitoring the recent developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), particularly in the province of B.C. During this time our responsibility is to pray and stand for the Lord’s interests (Eph. 6:10-20), to watchfully shepherd the flock of God (Acts 20:28), to love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31), and to cooperate with governmental authorities (Romans 13:1).
In light of the continued spread of the coronavirus and the increased health risk to the elderly saints, as well as those with pre-existing conditions, we feel it is necessary to modify the way in which we will conduct all the regular meetings of the church for the month of March. All meetings will take place on an online platform/group calls, starting today.
The district/small group responsible brothers will contact the saints about the details on how to participate in the online meetings/group calls. If you are not in an English-speaking / Chinese-speaking small group and would like to join an online meeting, please contact them.
We strongly urge the saints to stay updated and heed all recommendations from the B.C. government in observing public health guidelines. Further updates will be sent through the church newsletter, which we recommend you check frequently.
Let us give ourselves to persevere in prayer (Col. 4:2), to set our mind on things which are above (Col. 3:2), and join ourselves to the Lord in His ministry in heaven. He is interceding as our High Priest, He is ministering as the heavenly Minister, and He is executing God’s administration.
Standing together firmly in the Lord,
The elders and responsible brothers of the church in Vancouver
