My Christian Life is More Meaningful...

I came in contact with the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee through my parents. Before then, I was just a Christian who did not know the purpose and destiny of my Christian life. Nor did I know the genuine way to worship God. I was like the Pharisees and Scribes (in the four gospels), objectively holding a lot of knowledge about Christ and the so-called "church," but deep down in me, I knew that I was not satisfied. I was short of Christ. I had a lot of questions, like: where am I going? Will I be able to go to heaven if I am a bad Christian? What is God's purpose for saving me? Why do I need to be saved since I have never committed any sort of crime? How can I truly touch God? and What can I do to make Him happy?

Because of this deep longing, I began to read some of Watchman Nee's and Witness Lee's writings, such as: Twelve Baskets Full, The Spiritual Man, The All-Inclusive Christ, The Experience of Life and The Tree of Life. Wow! My eyes were greatly opened. I realized that God's intention for salvation is not just to rescue me from the fire of eternal perdition. Rather, His intention is much greater than this. God has a desire from eternity past, that is to become one with man and man one with Him. He wants to be received by man who is a vessel so that man can contain and express Him. His pleasure is to see man as an enjoyer of His life, but not as a doer in an outward manner. This is why the Lord Jesus reminded Martha in Luke 10:41-42, ". . . Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; but there is need of one thing, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

Throughout my Christian life (at least until now), I believed that I was zealous for God. However, a lot of my zeal was man-made (not initiated by God). I tried to do a lot of good work to satisfy God and His righteous requirement, but I know, in me, I was tired and not very happy. Now I have found the answer. God wants to be everything I need. In order to satisfy me, He needs to make His home in me (Ephesians 3:17), and this requires me to rest in Him. In Genesis 1, God created Adam and Eve and put them in front of the tree of life to enjoy Him as life. This original desire is also revealed in Revelation 22.

I thank God that because of His mercy and grace, I have been drawn to the Lord by the rich ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. The truth shines, the life flows, and I have found the meaning of my Christian life. I also thank my parents. Because of their love, faithfulness and unceasing prayer for me, I was able to be brought under the light of His Word and enjoy Him as the living and wonderful Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45).
